Norway Intend to Increase Investments in North Sumatra
Medan, (MB) - Norway intends to
increase investment in the province of North Sumatra, Indonesia.
Norwegian Ambassador to Indonesia
Stig Traavik said that when he did Courtesy Call with the Governor of North
Sumatra H.Gatot Pujo Nugroho, ST, MSi in Medan, capital of North Sumatra
province, Friday (30/8).
Stig explained, they had to move
their belonging gas terminal in Belawan (North Sumatra) to Lampung Province.
To change their investment in
North Sumatra, some Norwegian company is currently looking for other investment
opportunities to be developed in North Sumatra.
North Sumatra governor lamented
the removal of the gas terminal, because the industry in North Sumatra is
currently in dire need of gas supplies as feedstock energy. However, the
Governor welcomed with open arms Norway plans to increase investment in the
province.
According to Stig, they are very
interested in investing in the forestry sector, but according to the governor,
investments in other sectors also looks more like a strategic agriculture and
plantations. (04)
